The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) learning goals are valuable guidelines developed by the Department for Education in England, for children in Nursery and Reception. The goals cover all seven areas of development. While not mandatory for homeschooled children, these guidelines serve as an excellent reference for assessing your child’s progress and development up to the age of 5.

We have extracted the guidelines from the EYFS Profile 2024 handbook and created this document so you can easily access and acknowledge it.

Theme-based planners give you examples of educational activities linked to all EYFS learning areas for creating a cohesive learning environment.

They help you organize your simple room into a focused educational setting, with all activities connected to a central theme. This approach allows for comprehensive exploration of a subject/theme over an extended period, typically lasting about six weeks, similar to how themes are often used in school settings.
